The Minister for Sports, Culture and Heritage, Government of the Republic of Kenya, Amb., Dr. Amina Mohamed is pleased to announce the participation of Kenya at the 59th Art Biennial, popularly known as Biennale di Venezia, taking place from 22nd April – 27th November 2022, in the city of Venice, Italy.

The pavilion of Kenya, titled Exercises in Conversation, has been organized under the direction of Kurabu Projects in cooperation with the State Department of Culture and Heritage and showcases work by four young Kenyan Artists, namely, Dickens Otieno, Syowia Kyambi, Wanja Kimani and Kaloki Nyamai.

After a couple of false starts in previous editions, and a commendable artists’ organized edition in 2017, the 2021 edition is considered the second time that Kenya officially hosts its National Pavilion in Venice.
